The Australasian Cytometry Society (ACS) formally pledged its support for the Technician Commitment in 2024, recognising the critical role of technical specialists in advancing cytometry and broader life sciences research. Building on this, the ACS Technician Commitment Taskforce was established in mid-2025 to drive implementation across the society. The resulting 2026–2029 Action Plan outlines a structured, measurable approach centred on four key pillars – visibility, recognition, career development, and sustainability – aimed at strengthening career pathways, promoting best practice, and ensuring long-term support for cytometry professionals across Australasia.
