Publication Acknowledgment Guidelines

Proper attribution of contributions is a cornerstone of scientific integrity. Acknowledging the use of a flow cytometry facility in publications is not just good practice – it is the minimum standard of recognition and serves important scientific and operational purposes. This may include citing the facility, recognising specific staff members, and awarding co-authorship where contributions extend beyond routine technical support and meet accepted authorship criteria, including significant intellectual input consistent with NHMRC guidelines.

Despite this, many Shared Resource Laboratory (SRL) staff find it challenging to initiate conversations about recognition and authorship with users. To address this, the Technician Commitment Taskforce has developed clear, practical guidelines outlining expectations for acknowledgement and authorship in publications.

This poster is intended for display within Flow Cytometry Core Facilities to support transparent, consistent, and fair recognition practices.
