Neil McNamara 

Neil is a senior hospital scientist in Haematology, Liverpool Hospital, Sydney. He has worked in clinical flow cytometry for 17 of nearly 30 years in pathology and research.

Main area of interest is in clinical applications of flow cytometry, including haematology/oncology, standardization of testing and training. He is an active member of the Health Services Union and is concerned about the future of clinical testing in Australia and career paths for graduates entering the clinical pathology field.

He has acted as Treasurer of the ACS Executive, was Secretary of the 2010 AFCG Conference Organising committee, and is currently organiser of the Clinical Flow Guidelines Taskforce. He is also a member of ISAC, ICCS and AIMS, previous NSW AIMS Branch committee member and is currently the Scientific Officer representative of the Health Professionals Delegate Committee of the NSW HSU, organiser of the Sydney flow group Sydflow, and teaches tutorials in Clinical Flow Cytometry at the University of Technology Sydney.
